By Margaret Kane

Hewlett-Packard Co. has cut prices on its NetServer LH line by 10 to 15 percent, the company announced today.

An LH Pro 6/200 Model 1 will start at $5,741, down from $6,749, while the price of an LH Plus 5/166 Model 1 will fall to $5,219 from $5,812.

The Palo Alto, Calif., company also announced the launch of its new Ultra-SCSI drives, which are available in 2G-, 4G- and 9G-byte capacities. The NetServer LH and NetServer LX systems come with Ultra-SCSI controllers.

In addition, HP introduced today an enhanced JetDirect EX Plus print server that adds network printing capabilities to the company's DeskJet 870 color printer.

The server, which the company said delivers printer management features normally associated with higher-end models, is expected to be available in February for an estimated street price of $290.
