ParaGraph rolls out VRML tool that supports MMX
By Maria Seminerio

Virtual reality software tools developer ParaGraph International Inc. today rolled out a VRML 2.0 authoring tool optimized for Intel Corp.'s MMX multimedia processor.

Internet Space Builder 2.1 enables developers to build Web pages featuring MMX-powered multimedia applications that can be viewed with standard VRML 2.0 browsers, according to officials at ParaGraph, in Campbell, Calif.

The tool also features VRML compression utilities for faster download of multimedia applications, as well as a choice of rendering engines for creating full-color displays.

ISB 2.1 automatically compresses VRML files, reducing the average footprint of a 3-D scene by five to 10 times, ParaGraph officials said.

ISB 2.1 is available for download from ParaGraph's Web site at www.paragraph.com/. Pricing is $69.95 for the downloadable version and $89.95 for a shrink-wrapped version.

The product will be demonstrated at the Internet World trade show in Los Angeles next week.
